It is essential to note that if the Client is seeking medical assistance, particularly related to emotional difficulties, they are obligated to inform the Counsellor. The Counsellor will not consult with a doctor unless explicit permission is granted by the Client. However, in the event of a reasonable indication of an intent to cause harm to oneself or others, confidentiality may be breached, and appropriate steps will be taken to inform the relevant parties, including doctors, police, emergency services, or other appropriate third parties. Additionally, the Counsellor may consult with a psychiatrist for medical concerns related to the Client and/or for psycho-education regarding medication on behalf of the Client.

The Counsellor may keep securely stored notes for each Session, and occasional audio recordings may be made for the purpose of monitoring their work, with the Client’s prior knowledge and with client approval. These recordings will be securely stored and destroyed after use.
